The Giselle Mattress (Euro Top) is far from sophisticated but it does offer excellent value in the mattress in a box market.

Purchase and delivery

As with other mattress in a box options, the Giselle Mattress (Euro Top) can be conveniently ordered online and it will arrive at your door in a box (see delivery times in the ‘Delivery’ section below).

The Giselle Mattress (Euro Top) was easy to remove from its packaging and, as usual, we recommend having two people available to unpack a mattress in a box, even though it is usually manageable with one person.

Unpacking the Giselle Mattress (Euro Top) should only take 5-10 minutes, and we allowed it to decompress for 24 hours before testing.

Comfort and support

The Giselle Mattress has a nice combination of comfort and support. The top comfort layer offers nice pressure relief, and the 5 zone pocket spring system offers decent support.

Our team rated it as a ‘medium’ feel and a 6 / 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest). Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort.

The finer details

Overall build quality is better than what we expected, but nevertheless it does show its price in a few ways. It doesn’t feel particularly solid, and the edge support was a bit lacking. Again though, this is less than half the price of many mattress in a box options, so these deficiencies must be taken in context of the price.

If you’re on a tight budget, the Giselle Mattress (Euro Top) is a great buy.

Partner disturbance wasn’t too bad for a spring based mattress, and this is about as good as you will get at this price point.

Final verdict

This is about as good as we have seen in the ‘under $500’ category. If you’re on a tight budget, or just want something reasonable for the guest room, the Giselle Mattress (Euro Top) is a great buy.
