Yinahla Natural Latex Review
The Yinahla Natural Latex is an excellent mattress that has a lovely mix of comfort and support. It is Australian made, and forms part of the Yinahla range that was awarded Australia’s ‘Best Craftsmanship’ in 2024.
Purchase and delivery
The Yinahla Natural Latex can be conveniently ordered online, through the Yinahla website. Delivery is free, and the mattress can be delivered Australia-wide (see full delivery details in our ‘Delivery’ section further down).
The mattress arrived in pristine condition, thanks to some protective plastic wrapping. Unlike most mattresses available online, the Yinahla Natural Latex doesn’t come compressed in a box. This means that you won’t have to wait for it to decompress, before sleeping on it.

The Yinahla Natural Latex presents nicely with blend of simplicity and classic style. It sits 35cm high and uses a white, beige, and brown colour theme. It has a lovely stitching design on the side of the comfort layer, and its special embroidery give it an extra touch of class.
Comfort and support
The top comfort layer of this mattress starts with Yinahla’s signature ‘elastin knitted fabric’. This cover feels soft and luxurious, and is also well ventilated.
Sitting underneath this cover lies a combination of premium comfort layers. This includes a 50mm layer of 100% natural latex that has a distinct latex smell once the packaging is removed (this does dissipate over time). This layer provides a durable comfort material that should maintain its shape for many years.
These comfort layers absorb body weight smoothly, and the latex gives an extra touch of responsiveness. The mattress should suit all sleeping positions (side sleepers, back sleepers, and stomach sleepers) but understandably, its suitability will vary between individuals.
We rated the Yinahla Natural Latex as a ‘medium – firm’ feel and a 6.5 / 10 on the firmness scale. Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort. Furthermore, our firmness ratings are assigned based on Bedbuyer’s testing process and these may differ from firmness ratings given by individual companies.
The spring system used in the Yinahla Natural Latex is market-leading and will accomodate people of all sizes. It uses a 9 zone ‘ultra coil’ pocket spring system that provides outstanding spinal support.
It’s worth noting that this spring system has an exceptionally high spring count (1,967 springs in a queen size mattress). This helps to isolate movement very well, so partner disturbance is minimal.
The Yinahla Natural Latex responds nicely to normal sleep movements and we rated its level of responsiveness as ‘optimal’. In basic terms, this means that changing sleep positions (and intimate activities) shouldn’t be any trouble.
Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.
The finer details
In terms of build quality and craftsmanship, this mattress is exceptional. It has strong side handles to make rotating (and transporting) the mattress easier, and its ‘full edge box’ construction ensures that edge support is firm.
Its special layer of natural latex provides comfort, durability, and forms an environmentally sustainable material.
It’s worth noting here that all of the foams used in the Yinahla Natural Latex are certified as eco-friendly and non-toxic by GECA (Good Environmental Choice Australia). With this in mind, you can feel safe bringing this product into your home.
The Yinahla Natural Latex has an incredible 20-year warranty, a strong indication as to its quality and durability. And of course its 100 night trial period allows you to return the mattress for a full refund in the unlikely chance you are not satisfied.
What bed base should I use?
As with most mattresses, we recommend the Yinahla Natural Latex to be used with a sturdy bed frame with solid slats (such as the Chiropedic Bed Base). We also recommend that these slats are no longer than 8 cm apart.
A bed frame with ‘flexible’ (posture) slats will not provide adequate support for this mattress. Please note that any unsupportive mattress foundation will void the warranty for this mattress.
Furthermore, we do not recommend the Yinahla Natural Latex to be used with an adjustable (electric) bed base as this will also void the warranty. Here is our full list of mattresses that are compatible with an adjustable bed base.
It’s worth noting here that mattress firmness, performance, and durability will vary with different bed bases.
