Yinahla Visco Flex Review

The Yinahla Visco Flex is a lovely mattress that offers plenty of ‘spongy’ comfort. It is Australian made, and forms part of the Yinahla range that was awarded Australia’s ‘Best Craftsmanship’ in 2024.

Purchase and delivery

The Yinahla Visco Flex can be conveniently ordered online, through the Yinahla website. Delivery is free, and the mattress can be delivered Australia-wide (see full delivery details in our ‘Delivery’ section further down).

The mattress arrived in pristine condition, thanks to some protective plastic wrapping. Unlike most mattresses available online, the Yinahla Visco Flex doesn’t come compressed in a box. This means that you won’t have to wait for it to decompress, before sleeping on it.

The Yinahla Visco Flex presents nicely with blend of simplicity and classic style. It sits 34cm high and uses a white and beige colour theme. Its special embroidery and Australian made label give it an extra touch of class.

Comfort and support

The top comfort layer of this mattress starts with Yinahla‘s signature ‘elastin knitted fabric’. This cover sits over a combination of premium foam layers that includes an 18mm layer of Fusion Gel Memory Foam and a 50mm layer of Visco Flex Memory Foam.

These comfort layers would suit those who like the distinct feel of memory foam. They feel noticeably spongy, and mould to the body well.

The mattress should suit all sleeping positions (side sleepers, back sleepers, and stomach sleepers) but understandably, its suitability will vary between individuals.

We rated the Yinahla Visco Flex as a ‘medium – firm’ feel and a 6.5 / 10 on the firmness scale. Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort. Furthermore, our firmness ratings are assigned based on Bedbuyer’s testing process and these may differ from firmness ratings given by individual companies.

The spring system used in the Yinahla Visco Flex is market-leading and will accomodate people of all sizes. It uses a 9 zone ‘ultra coil’ pocket spring system that provides outstanding spinal support.

It’s worth noting that this spring system has an exceptionally high spring count (1,967 springs in a queen size mattress). This helps to isolate movement very well, so partner disturbance is minimal.

Due to the multiple layers of memory foam in its comfort layer, the Yinahla Visco Flex may not respond to normal sleep movements as well as others in the Yinahla range. This means that changing sleep positions (and intimate activities) may be easier on other mattresses.

Please note though, that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.

The finer details

In terms of build quality and craftsmanship, this mattress is first class. It has strong side handles to make rotating (and transporting) the mattress easier, and its ‘full edge box’ construction ensures that edge support is solid.

These comfort layers feel would suit those who like the distinct feel of memory foam.

It’s worth noting here that all of the foams used in the Yinahla Visco Flex are certified as eco-friendly and non-toxic by GECA (Good Environmental Choice Australia). With this in mind, you can feel safe bringing this product into your home.

The Yinahla Visco Flex has an incredible 20-year warranty, a strong indication as to its quality and durability. And of course its 100 night trial period allows you to return the mattress for a full refund in the unlikely chance you are not satisfied.

What bed base should I use?

As with most mattresses, we recommend the Yinahla Visco Flex to be used with a sturdy bed frame with solid slats (such as the Chiropedic Bed Base). We also recommend that these slats are no longer than 8 cm apart.

A bed frame with ‘flexible’ (posture) slats will not provide adequate support for this mattress. Please note that any unsupportive mattress foundation will void the warranty for this mattress.
