Noa Mattress Review
The Noa Mattress offers great value and has become a popular bed in a box option in Australia. It forms the mid-range option in Noa’s popular mattress range.
Purchase and delivery
The Noa Mattress can be conveniently ordered online (through the Noa website) and will be delivered to your door in a compact box. Delivery is free and Noa can deliver to its serviceable areas in 2-14 business days. For more information, please see ‘Delivery’ section below.
The box arrived in good condition and the mattress was easy to remove from its box and packaging. As usual, we recommend having two people available to unpack a mattress in a box, even though it is usually manageable with one person. As per our standard procedure, we allowed it to decompress for 24 hours before testing.

Visually, the Noa Mattress has a clean, stylish look. It uses a grey and white colour theme with the ‘NOA’ brand highly visible on the top cover.
Comfort and support
The Noa Mattress has a top comfort layer that consists of a hand-tufted Tencel fabric cover that feels smooth, and comfortable. This cover sits over layers of premium latex, gel infused memory foam, and an adaptive ‘transition’ foam.
The combination of these comfort layers works to perfection, and offers smooth pressure relief. The mattress should suit all sleeping positions (side sleepers, back sleepers, and stomach sleepers) but understandably, its suitability will vary between individuals.
Based on our testing, our team rated it as a medium-firm feel and a 6.5 / 10 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest).
Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort. Furthermore, our firmness ratings are assigned based on Bedbuyer’s testing process and these may differ from firmness ratings given by individual companies.
Sitting below this comfort layer is Noa’s signature pocket spring system that feels solid yet responsive. This spring unit offers reliable spinal support and should accommodate people of all sizes. The mattress also isolates sleep movements well, so partner disturbance is minimal.
It is nicely balanced with comfort and support, and offers excellent value.
The Noa Mattress responds nicely to normal sleep movements and we rated its level of responsiveness as ‘optimal’. In basic terms, this means that changing sleep positions (and intimate activities) shouldn’t be any trouble.
Please note that our responsiveness scales are just a guide and preferred responsiveness levels will vary between individuals. It’s worth noting also that innerspring mattresses are generally more responsive than foam mattresses.
The finer details
The mattress contains strong side handles which makes carrying and manoeuvring much easier. The Noa Mattress also has a 9 cm thick layer of high density foam around its perimeter. This gives good edge support and is possibly the best foam encasement in the mattress in a box market.
The Noa Mattress is very well certified as non-toxic, so you can be sure it’s safe to bring into your home. It has a solid 120 night trial period, and a 15 year warranty, giving you plenty of peace of mind.
What bed base should I use?
As with most mattresses, we recommend the Noa Mattress to be used with a solid bed frame (such as the Sleep Republic Pro Base), or a solid ensemble base (with the slats no longer than 8 cm apart).
A bed frame (with flexible slats) may still be adequate, but again, we strongly recommend that the distance between each slat is less than 8 cm. Use of an unsupportive mattress foundation will usually void the mattress warranty.

It’s worth noting here that mattress firmness, performance, and durability will vary with different bed bases.

Once your order has been processed, our third party transporter will contact you to confirm a suitable delivery date. Delivery to your home is estimated on average between 2-14 business days once processed.
Our third part transporters offer threshold delivery only. Deliveries are made Monday through Friday, during regular business hours.
We currently offer free shipping on all orders within our serviceable areas. We don’t offer shipping to NT, TAS, P.O. boxes, and certain addresses located outside of our serviceable areas.
At this time, we are unable to hold your order until a future date. Orders including back ordered items will be processed and dispatched once the item(s) is back in stock.

The base layer of the mattress is comprised of individually pocketed springs, encased in a highly permeable mesh material, to allow for exceptional airflow and breathability. Made of thick-gauge steel, the pocket springs offer excellent bounce and phenomenal durability.
A thick, 9cm high density foam encases the perimeter of the Noa Mattress. This firm encasement minimises sagging, provides additional durability and a far more comforting sleep surface.
The perimeter edge support foam adds a practical barrier of comfort by eliminating any contact with the individually pocketed steel springs – a unique feature found only in five-star, high-end mattresses.
As if the deep hand-tufted, crown pillow-top were not enough, the side perimeter shares that same, stunning detail on a breathable, poly knit quilt.

Care Instructions
The mattress cover of the Noa Mattress is not removable. We recommend the use of a mattress protector immediately upon use to protect against spills and dirt. If needed, spot clean the desired area with a mild detergent (gently dab the affected area and avoid rubbing). Please ensure the cleaned area is completely dry before adding your mattress protector or sheets.
We recommend rotating the mattress 180 degrees every 3-6 months.
