Jättetrött Review
The Jättetrött is one of four cot mattresses available at IKEA in Australia. It has a somewhat basic design, but it does offer reasonable value for those price conscious shoppers.
Purchase and delivery
This mattress can be ordered online, and delivery is available Australia-wide (see full delivery information in our ‘Delivery’ section below). It can also be purchased through any of IKEA’s stores across Australia.
Aesthetically, the Jättetrött presents with a very simple appearance. It uses a white colour theme along circular shaped stitching on the top cover.
Comfort and support
This mattress has a comfort layer that includes a cotton and polyester fabric, and comfort foam. This does provide some pressure relief, but it does feel a little hard and unsophisticated.
We rated the Jättetrött as an ‘firm’ feel and an 8.5 / 10 on the firmness scale. Please note that our firmness ratings are just a guide and they do not necessarily relate to comfort.
The support structure in the Jättetrött consists of a pocket spring system. This feels reasonably stable and should provide adequate support for growing spines.
The finer details
In terms of build quality and craftsmanship, the Jättetrött is fair, and what you would expect for the price. It does come with side handles, and its quality and finishings seem of reasonably well made.
Available sizes
The Jättetrött is available in a cot size mattress (70 cm x 132 cm) which is designed specifically for IKEA cots. It is worth noting that IKEA cot mattresses are slightly larger than the standard Australian cot mattress size (69 cm 130 cm) so buyers must be mindful of possible size discrepancies.

Final verdict
The Jättetrött is a rather basic cot mattress but its value proposition is noteworthy. Again, care must be taken to ensure that it will fit correctly Australian-sized cots.

Specifications – Jättetrött
- Mattress Height: 11 cm
A cot mattress where you can see and feel the care in every detail, from the well-ventilated construction to the durable fabric and detailed stitching.
The outer cover is easy to remove and is machine washable at 60°C.
A fixed inner cover increases the fire safety of the mattress and makes it easy to put the outer cover back on after washing. It also prevents children from putting mattress contents in their mouth.
Pocket springs allow air to circulate freely in the mattress core and provide your child with a well-ventilated sleeping climate with an even temperature.
The zipper of the Jättetrött mattress has a little pocket where you can hide the pull tab from the hands of curious children.
For safety reasons, it is important that there are no gaps between the mattress and the edges of the cot.
The mattress is dimensioned for IKEA cots.
We recommend IKEA fitted sheets for cots. They are dimensioned for our mattresses, which means the mattress retains its secure shape and size.
Wash the cover inside out with the zipper closed.
